Cool Show. The Shriners Stole the 1st 35 inutes
I purchased tickets to Candlelight: Neo-Soul Favorites, expecting an MJ show, but was surprised when the Shriners announced it was a fundraiser. The local comedian they brought on stage performed for 30 minutes, delivering an awful performance. He even made a bigoted joke about Louisiana electing a Muslim. The audience's reaction to the joke was troubling. This crucial information about the event being a fundraiser and including a comedian was not disclosed when I bought the tickets.
Despite the unexpected turns during the show, including downtime and the MJ performer being backstage while a song played, I still found the Candlelight: Neo-Soul Favorites show enjoyable. It had its flaws but overall was a good experience that could have been better.
Audio clarity was not good.
"I have been to UIC Pavillion before, so the venue was changed. The sound was bad, and I'm not sure if it was due to the particular mix that night or the usual sound of the venue. The vocals sounded crackly and overdriven, with many instruments being much hotter in the mix than the vocals. The performers were barely intelligible between songs. I have seen Guster many times before and this is not their usual sound quality. Many appeared too drunk to notice and seemed more concerned about running back and forth to get beers than listen to the show. It seemed good with better sound, the show would have been."

"It was an amazing night and an awesome concert I've been to. How he sings his songs live is just like he sings his songs in his CDs. At the end, I thought it will be longer, but those hours went by so quickly. I wish more people should watch his shows - trust me, you won't regret it! I'm his #1 fan and I will never change him or replace him. Wish Candlelight: Neo-Soul Favorites can come back again very soon. It was an unforgettable night, and I wish I can go and stop time to watch him again."

THE IFINANCIAL WEST PALM BEACH AMPITHEATRE PUT ABOUT 15 SUB WOOFERS ON THE FLOOR FACING THE AUDIENCE DECIDED TO.
WHEN Candlelight: Neo-Soul Favorites CAME ON, THEY PUT THE KICK DRUM THROUGH THESE GIANT SUB WOOFERS. EVEN TODAY MONDAY, OUR EARS ARE STILL RINGING. WE WERE ABOUT 6 FEET AWAY AND COULD FEEL THE PERCUSSION IN OUR CHEST.
WE HAVE BEEN TO THIS VENUE SCORES OF TIMES BEFORE AND THEY NEVER HAD THESE SUB WOOFERS ADDED TO THE MIX. EVERYTHING JUST SOUNDED LIKE NOISE.
THE SOUND WAS SO BAD THAT I COULD NOT MAKE OUT ANY OF THE NOTES VERDINE WHITE WAS PLAYING OR THE Candlelight: Neo-Soul Favorites BASS PLAYER. I PLAY BASS GUITAR.
WE LEFT AFTER THE 3RD Candlelight: Neo-Soul Favorites SONG. IF WE EVER PLAYED THAT LOUD, I WAS A TRAVELLING MUSICIAN, WE WOULD HAD BEEN ASKED TO LEAVE.
